CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A Clarksville man is accused of stealing water from a neighboring vacant home police say.

According to authorities, the home's owner, Edward Forrester Jr., said he learned of the incident after his real estate agent informed him more than 2,000 gallons of water had been used at the home located in the 600 block of Whiteface Road.

Forrester's real estate agent drove to the empty home and discovered a garden hose running from Forrester's residence to Christian Perryman's home located next door.

The 25-year-old man admitted to police he took the water to water his lawn and that he would pay the bill.

Forrester could take out a warrant against Perryman if the bill is not paid.
