SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -
The city of Springfield announced on Monday morning they have canceled their annual Fourth of July fireworks show.
Officials made the decision to call off the event due to the extremely dry conditions.
This is the first time in history the event has been forced to be canceled.
Due to the dry, hot conditions many counties including Robertson, Rutherford and Cheatham, among others have issued burn bans.
Others have issued bans that also include the use of fireworks.
