Record Heat Again In Nashville

The record heat continues for Nashville and much of middle Tennessee.  So far, Nashville has set another record high for Sunday at 104-degrees (old record is 101-degrees, 1954).  This makes four days in a row of record setting temperatures for the music city.

The dry air mass will start to disappear as humidity comes back into the forecast.  The upper level high causing the hot and dry conditions is slowly slipping southeastward and will allow temperatures to begin to fall back to the upper 90s, then mid 90s this work week.  This means the heat index will be back, making it still feel over 100-degrees.

Predictor (computer model) shows a return to afternoon showers each day including July 4th.  But rain chances still look low at about 20% each afternoon.  Remember, we need the rain.

The long range forecast (by the end of this next week) indicates we may see a cold front coming into the area, and possibly lowering temperatures considerably (we will keep you posted on that).
