
A 79-year-old man was killed Saturday night after being involved in a single vehicle collision.
Police said Draper Cook was driving his 1999 Ford pickup truck eastbound on Red Oak Drive at Brentwood Terrace around 8:15 p.m. when he reportedly ran a stop sign before striking a guardrail and tree.
Cook was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Officers said the elderly man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Cook's 76-year-old wife, Betty was also involved in the accident. She did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
