NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 23-year-old woman involved in a rollover crash early Sunday morning has died from her injuries.

Charlene Harris was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Jeremy McBride when the accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 40 and Briley Parkway.

Witnesses reported McBride was driving erratically before he lost control of his 2004 GMC Envoy, ejecting Harris, who was not wearing a seatbelt, from the SUV.

Harris was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died late Sunday morning.

McBride, 25, was taken to Summit Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

He was taken into police custody following his release from the hospital.

Police said McBride admitted to drinking alcohol before the crash.

McBride is currently charged with vehicular assault and has since been freed on a $5,000 bond.

Toxicology tests are pending.

Additional charges are pending.
