ROAN MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (AP) - Investigators in eastern Tennessee say two people who were found dead after a fire at a garage at the home in the Hampton Creek community were shot in an apparent double homicide.
Carter County Sheriff's Lt. Mike Little told The Johnson City Press that investigators are spending "a great deal of time" on the leads available. Little said he's not yet received information from the autopsies done at Quillen College of Medicine, but he said such information can be slow in coming in cases with burned bodies.
The investigators are still awaiting confirmation from the autopsy on the identities of the victims.
A burned out home near the garage had been the home of Glenn Shell and Joyce Brock, who reported someone set fire to their home June 6.
