NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Police are investigating after a woman was hit in the head with a club during a home invasion in east Nashville late Thursday night.
Around 11:55 p.m., police said the woman was followed into her home on Franklin Avenue at Scott Avenue by a black male suspect who demanded prescription drugs.
The two had a short struggle before he hit the woman over the head with a baton.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male, about five feet, six inches tall.
He was wearing a dark shirt with athletic pants with a white stripe down the side and a blue bandana over his face.
