BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Sullivan County grand jury has indicted a Kingsport couple after a 4-year-old boy was left at a Walmart store.
The Kingsport Times-News reported 26-year-old Jordon E. Finehout and 28-year-old Jessica N. Fleenor were formally charged Tuesday with child neglect. Finehout was also indicted on possession of a prohibited weapon - a butterfly knife.
Investigators said the couple abused bath salts and Loritab before abandoning the child.
Court records show Walmart employees found the little boy wandering in the store in the early morning of Nov. 30.
Shortly after 4 a.m., Fleenor called the store and said she had "lost" her son there, but her car had run out of gas as she came to look for him.
