East Nashville teen hears gunfire, shot in leg

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg early Wednesday morning just moments after hearing gunfire.

The shooting happened just after 12:30 a.m. on Grace Street at Joseph Avenue in east Nashville.

Metro police told Nashville's News 2, the teen and his friend were walking back from a store when shots were fired.

The teen was taken to General Hospital but was back home with his parents recovering a short time later.

Police do not have a suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
