Burglars steal more than $10K from Smyrna business

SMYRNA, Tenn. -

Police hope that surveillance video will help solve a burglary at a Smyrna business earlier in June.

The video shows that two men broke into the back of Aaron's Rental, located at 295 North Lowry Street, around 11:30 p.m. on June 16.

They gained access to the safe and stole more than $10,000.

The suspects then left the store, but it is unclear if they left on foot or if they used a vehicle.

Their faces are not clear in the video, but police still hope someone recognizes them.

One suspect has a hood over his face, and the other conceals his face with his jacket and a ball cap.

Sgt. Bobby Gibson with the Smyrna Police Department, told Nashville's News 2, "What we're hoping is that maybe somebody recognizes the clothing, maybe the two people together as to the hoods and the hats and things of that nature, body mannerisms, movements."

Gibson says the suspect wearing the hat appears to be either a black or dark-skinned Hispanic man, and notes that he's quite a bit smaller than the second suspect.

If you have any information, contact the Smyrna Police Department.
