Two people were injured in an electrical explosion at a zinc plant Monday evening in Clarksville.
The explosion happened just before 5 p.m. at the Nyrstar Clarksville Zinc Plant.
Darin Cooper, general manager at Nyrstar Clarksville, said the injured persons were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The injuries are not life-threatening and both employees were listed in stable condition Tuesday morning.
Cooper said there was no damage to the plant as a result of the explosion and production was not impacted.
An investigation is underway to determine what caused the explosion.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA, is also conducting an investigation.Nyrstar's electrolytic zinc smelter in Clarksville produces more than 100,000 tons of zinc metal annually, according to the company's Web site.Sign up for breaking news and weather emails.
