Clarksville police arrested a suspect and are searching for another after detectives said they pretended to be magazine salesmen and robbed a resident confined to a wheelchair.
Police said Maurice Deloatch and an unknown accomplice approached the 51-year-old victim Sunday afternoon on the porch of his Rainbow Street residence and told him they were selling sports magazines.
The victim let the two men into his house where one of them pulled out a handgun while the other ransacked the residence, stealing a wallet, credit cards, cash and prescription medication.
Two hours later, officers found a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle at an apartment complex on Old Russellville Pike.
After locating the vehicle and following some additional leads, detectives developed Deloatch as one of the suspects.
Through a photo lineup, the victim later identified Deloatch as one of the men who robbed him.
The 24-year-old was charged with aggravated robbery and booked into the Montgomery County jail on a $10,000 bond.
Deloatch has a lengthy criminal history and is currently on probation for burglaries and thefts, police.
The other suspect, described as a black male, 18 or 19 years old, cleanly shaven with short hair, remains at large.
