NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday to determine whether a medical issue contributed to Monday's death of a man who stepped off or fell into a deep section of water at Percy Priest Lake's Seven Points Recreation Area.

Authorities said Timon Rice, 50, was walking with a female friend in shallow water around 12:30 p.m. when he fell or lost his balance and went into a deep pocket of the lake.

Rice was underwater for about three minutes before he was rescued.

CPR was performed on Rice at the scene.

He was rushed by ambulance to Summit Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Additional information was not released.
