KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - An investigation continues into the fatal weekend shooting of an East Tennessee man by sheriff's deputies.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reported a man was shot after he pointed a shotgun at two Knox County deputies.
Department spokesman Martha Dooley said deputies had been sent to the home twice in the past year to check on the wellbeing of someone who lives there. Dooley said the officers went to the door Saturday evening and called the suspect's name and he came to the door with a shotgun, which he pointed at the deputies.
The man was dead at the scene. His name wasn't released.
