17-year-old's body pulled from river

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. -

Crews recovered the body of a 17-year-old male juvenile from a river Sunday afternoon in Lincoln County in southern Middle Tennessee.

The youth's body was recovered at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the Elk River in Fayetteville.

He was last seen swimming in the water early Saturday afternoon and reported missing Saturday evening.

Fayetteville Police Lt. Joel Massey said the juvenile's body will be sent to the medical examiner's office in Nashville for an autopsy.
 
The youth's name was not immediately released.
