Walking Horse trainer suspended, fined for violation

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -

A Tennessee Walking Horse trainer is accused of filing false entry information for five horses and violating the Horse Protection Act.

The violations allegedly occurred June 15 at a horse show in Shelbyville.

Trainer Joe Cotton has been suspended from the Show Horse Industry Organization for seven years and fined $5,000.

The suspension is one of the largest ever issued to a Tennessee Walking Horse trainer.
