Jazz on the Lawn continues at Clarksville winery

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Located just off Interstate 24 in Clarksville, Beachaven Vineyards and Winery is one of Tennessee's oldest wineries.

Louisa Cooke and her husband own the winery her dad founded more than two decades ago in 1986.

"It's not just California, you don't have to live in California to make good wine and grow good grapes," Cooke has told News 2.

Every other Saturday between May and October, Beachaven offers Jazz on the Lawn.

The event draws between 2,000 and 3,000 people and guests are encouraged to arrive early for the 6:30 p.m. shows.

The event is free and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and food of their choice.

Outside alcohol, however, is prohibited as bottles of wine can be purchased at the vineyard.

The headliner for this Saturday's Jazz on the Lawn show is Jim Gibson.

Beachaven is open for tastings and tours seven days a week.  Both are free.

The winery makes 22 varieties of wine and champagne.  Bottles range in price from $10 to $20.

Beachaven also works with local groups like Ft. Campbell to produce unique bottles for special events.
