FRANKLIN, Tenn. -

Business owners will soon be required to follow new advertising guidelines in downtown historic Franklin.

City officials voted on Thursday night to allow sandwich boards and decorative displays on sidewalks.

The new ordinance will regulate the size of the signs and they must leave enough room for people on the sidewalk.

Business owners will also be required to have a $50 permit.
