CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -
Clarksville police arrested two men on auto theft charges early Wednesday morning.
Around 3 a.m., an officer made voluntary contact with Daniel Huff and Shawn Jones in the parking lot of a Kangaroo Express gas station.
Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found inside their vehicle in addition electronic equipment linked to a recent theft at Best Motors
After interviewing Huff and Jones, it was determined they had been involved in the theft of a 1979 Chevy Silverado from Best Motors on June 18.
The investigation led detectives to Huff's residence where the stolen truck was located.
In addition, a 1999 Toyota Camry which had been stolen May 15 was found on the property. The Camry had been repainted, changing it from maroon to blue.
Huff, 39, was booked into the Montgomery County jail on charges of unlawful drug paraphernalia, criminal attempt-theft, theft of motor vehicle and theft of property.
His bond was set at $12,500.
Huff has an extensive history involving theft and assault, police said.
Jones, 32, was booked into the Montgomery County jail on charges of simple possession, burglary, driving on suspended license and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $6,000.
Police said Jones has an extensive history involving traffic related violations.
