CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -
The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga has some new feathered friends. Two newborn macaroni penguins are now on display.
The first, born May 24 to parents Hercules and Shamrock, is on exhibit with the other penguins in an acrylic playpen.
The other chick is in a separate exhibit with parents Paulie and Chaos because the chick's father has displayed aggressive behavior in the past.
It takes the chicks only 10 weeks to reach their full adult plumage.
Typically the male looks after the baby for the first few weeks while the female macaroni hunts for food.
The aquarium has yet to release the names of the babies.
