NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Metro police are trying to sort through an overnight shooting after confusing statements from the victim Thursday morning.
The victim told police he was shot in the arm somewhere north of town near 9th Avenue North before showing up at a family members' home shortly after 12 a.m. Midnight.
Police told Nashville's News 2 the 19-year-old victim was not cooperating and told police he was in a field when two people approached him.
As he tried to leave the field, the suspects started firing shots at him and missed. He fled the scene to another unknown location.
The suspect then allegedly chased him down and began firing again, striking him in the arm.
A family member took the teen to Nashville General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have not released a suspect description or any further details.
The investigation is ongoing.
