Alert police work led to Monday night's arrest of admitted serial burglar Darren Leake.
According to Metro police, Leake, 43, confessed to targeting the Mapco convenience store located at 533 Murfreesboro Pike and Mona Market located at 601 Murfreesboro Pike on six occasions between April 29 and June 11.
In each of the burglaries Leake stole cigarettes, which he said he then sold on the street to support his drug habit.
Leake was arrested Monday night after a side window at Mona Market was shattered.
Police reviewed surveillance video which showed the burglar arrive in a silver minivan.
The minivan was spotted at a motel in the 400 block of Murfreesboro Pike a short time later.
Leake was taken into custody and after an interview with detectives was booked into the Metro jail on six counts of burglary.
His bond was set at $60,000.
