CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

Clarksville police charged a 35-year-old woman with driving under the influence on Sunday after she and her two children were involved in an accident.

According to police, Leslie Lara drove the wrong way on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard before she crashed into a guardrail and flipped her vehicle.

Lara told responding officers she had been drinking at a friend's home prior to the accident and was on her way home with her two children.

Officers said Lara reported she had consumed six alcoholic drinks and knew she was not in the condition to drive.

Lara and her children, ages nine and 13, were transported an area hospital for minor injuries.

She was charged with reckless endangerment and driving under the influence.
