The summer solstice occurs on Wednesday, June 20th at 6:09 CDT here in middle Tennessee. It is called the longest day of the year because it is the longest time frame from sunrise to sunset.... 14+ hours.
Summer may start on Wednesday evening but it feels like it NOW! Yes, it could be more humid, but temperatures will continue to climb through the 90s as the week progresses.
Clear skies tonight with lows from the mid to upper 60s. Plentiful sunshine again Tuesday with a quick climb to the low 90s.
There is only a scattered t'shower chance by the end of the week even though we really need a 2 or 3 day soaker.
We'll explain tonight on News 2 at 10.
