Woman charged with selling medicine paid for by TennCare

A Rutherford County woman faces charges after it was discovered she was selling prescription medication paid for by TennCare.

Cheyenne Felts, 31, faces three counts of TennCare fraud and three counts of sale of a controlled substance.

Authorities said she used her benefits to obtain prescriptions for amphetamine and a painkiller, while planning to unlawfully sell a portion of the medications.

TennCare fraud is a Class E felony, which carries a sentence of up to two years in prison, while sale of a Schedule III controlled substance is considered a Class D felony and carries a possible sentence of three to six years.
