NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Approximately 500 of the country's sheriffs are in Nashville for the 2012 National Sheriffs Association conference through Wednesday.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office is the host for the second time in less than 10 years. Davidson Sheriff Daron Hall said an advantage of being the host is having complete access to dozens of workshops at no charge, which will help his staff develop professionally.
Seminar topics at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center include prison assaults, jail risk management and safety, terrorism, mental health in jails and dealing with the disabled behind bars.
