Beatrice McClearn publishes two dozen short story eBooks for fans.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 18, 2012

Best known for her novel Diaries of an Emotional Prostitute, Beatrice McClearn announces the release of her new short story collection. The news came as McClearn proclaimed her status as runner-up in the 2012 Best New Author contest hosted by the National Black Book Festival.

The twenty-plus eBooks are inspired by McClearn's blogs entitled Confessions of a Fat Girl, MindPlay, and Road to Recovery. Topics include relationships, obesity, homelessness, and erotica. McClearn hopes that the release of the short stories will inspire more people to appreciate creative writing.

"Before I was a novelist, I wrote short stories for small audiences. My decision to publish these stories on a national level came from the notion that people operate on limited time. Not everyone has the time to read a dozen novels. The busy mom, the workaholic, and the fun party girl can now read great stories without missing a piece of their life," McClearn noted.

Much of McClearn's success has been accredited to Diaries of an Emotional Prostitute, which holds a 4-star rating on Goodreads and Amazon, but she hopes her short stories will attract new fans that may have previously been too busy to read.

McClearn adds, "Twitter, Facebook, and blogs show us that people read. I look forward to connecting with my supporters as I entertain them via a new approach. I'm interested in their stories, their fantasies, and anything that makes them want to read my work. I live to inspire others to do more, pursue more, or even dream more."

Short stories are becoming widely popular on the Internet. McClearn believes that her collection will provide readers with an outlet. McClearn's short story collection is available on Kindle and sales for less than $1.

Popular publications from McClearn's collection include:

  • Coverless Book: A story that depicts a woman's encounter with a homeless man in Washington, D.C.
  • Six Super Sexy Sex Secrets for BBW: A graphic entry that details how bigger women can play into their boldness in the bedroom.
  • Momma's Touch: A sentimental story about a young girl who watches her mother sink into a deep depression as her neighbor (and crush) focuses on another woman.
  • A Lonely Journey: A story that depicts the sorrow of a pregnant widow as she mourns the death of her U.S. Soldier before the holidays.
  • My Final Ode to Him: An entry that gives power to those who are trying to break free from a secret love affair.
  • The Calamity: An entry written by Beatrice McClearn in 2010 as she went through a weird break up. In this piece, McClearn compares her love to being a stranger on an island.
  • The Impostors: A story that explores the life of a young girl who is abused by her father's caretaker.
When asked if she will write another novel, McClearn stated "I haven't stopped writing novels; I've just added entertainment to my intermission. As a matter of fact, I'm writing the spin-off to Diaries of an Emotional Prostitute." Diaries of an Emotional Prostitute is available via the Kindle and Nook. Prices range from $3.95 eBook to $13.95 paperback.
