The Nashville Farmers Market kicked off its highly acclaimed "Night Market" on Friday night.
"I love the market, it's fabulous," Johann Wilkerson told Nashville's News 2, "It's a place you can bring the whole family."
Every third Friday of the month, the Nashville Farmers Market holds the special Night Market event.
The night market has become so popular; it earned a mention in a recent issue of Details magazine as one of the country's five best night markets, along with cities like Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
The national attention is welcome to Jolie Ayn Yockey.
"That's one of the biggest honors we've ever received. We're so excited to be in such great company," she said.
Besides the variety of fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods and artisan cheeses, Wilkerson told Nashville's News 2 it's the cultural diversity that makes the night market Nashville's place to be.
"You get to taste all these different foods and you get a taste of their culture, who could ask for anything more?"
The night market is open evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the third Friday of each month through December.
