CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -

A suicidal man was taken into custody by Clarksville police early Friday morning after shooting his gun in the air in front of responders.

Jonathan Lamon, 28, of Clarksville called 911 saying he was going to hurt himself and had several loaded guns with him. Officers immediately responded to the home in the 100 block of E Street.

According to a press release, 911 officials told Lamon that officers were outside of the residence before he turned off the porch lights and the lights inside the house. He then exited the home and discharged a rifle into the air.

Police reported they saw a muzzle blast from a rifle but did not see Lamon since it was dark outside.
Shortly after, he put the gun away and proceeded back outside.

When officers noticed he was unarmed, they approached him and took him into custody.

Lamon was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $5,000.
