NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A recently reopened north Nashville market was severely damaged Friday morning after a fully involved fire.
The fire sparked shortly before 4 a.m. at the J & O Market in the 2100 block of 14th Avenue North.
Officials told Nashville's News 2 nearby neighbors noticed the smoke and contacted the authorities.
Firefighters had to cut through two steel bar doors to gain entry into the building and had the flames out within 30 minutes.
They were not immediately sure of the cause of the fire and said the flames spread up the wall and into the attic.
The building suffered heavy smoke, water, and fire damage. No injuries were reported.
The fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
