Police discover 31 marijuana plants behind E. Nashville home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Metro police discovered nearly three dozen marijuana plants growing behind an east Nashville home on Monday.

Authorities received consent to search a home in the 900 block of Fairwin Avenue while conducting a walk and talk.

Bernie Sands was taken into police custody following the discovery.  

The 21-year-old admitted to growing the plants.

He is charged with felony marijuana possession.

Sands was booked into the Metro jail.

He has since been released on a $5,500 bond.
