SPRING HILL, Tenn. -
A proposed crematory in Spring Hill is one step closer to becoming a reality after the city's planning commission made another push on Monday night.
In a 4 to 1 vote, the commission approved a sketch for a 2,000-square-foot property located just off of Main Street.
Next month, the commission is scheduled to consider a site plan for the property.
Officials said if approved, it will be the final step of approval needed to the project.
Many Spring Hill residents continue to oppose the crematory, raising concerns over how the crematory could affect their health and the value of their property.
A study revealed there was only a small chance the crematory could harm the public.
The planning commission is scheduled to hold a work session on July 2.
