DONELSON, Tenn. -

At least 50 marijuana plants were found in a residence less than a half mile from a Metro elementary school Monday night.

Police discovered the plants in the 2500 block of Woodberry Drive not far from the McGavock Elementary School in Donelson.

According to an affidavit, officers went to the residence to serve an outstanding felony warrant to Kevin Oxley who attempted to climb out of the back window and went back into the house.

Oxley then exited the house from the side door and police noticed a very strong odor of marijuana.

Police said when asking if anyone else was in the house, Oxley responded "My girl is and she scared to death."

Kimba Bride and Shelby Ferguson, 20, appeared and spoke with police. Following inconsistent statements from the suspects, police obtained a search warrant.

During a sweep of the house, officers said they found at least 50 marijuana plants in various grow stages.

Police seized the plants and took the three into custody. Oxley, Bride, and Ferguson face felony drug charges.
