Mitt Romney left the event just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was in the Mid-State Tuesday during a private fundraising event at a home north of Franklin.
Tuesday's visit by Romney was low-profile and high-dollar, which is not uncommon on the campaign fundraising trail.
Invited guests paid $10,000 to shake hands and take a photo with Gov. Romney or guests could attend a less intimate reception for $2,500.
Though this wasn't his first visit in Tennessee, he has yet to make a public appearance.
The Republican presidential hopeful and President Barack Obama have been campaigning all across the United States, raising money for their so-called campaign war chests.
So far, Tennessee has generated comparatively modest dollars for the two candidates.
Romney has raised $1.4 million dollars from Tennessee supporters and President Obama is trailing with just $1 million.
Last month the two raised nearly $77 million and $60 million respectively through their parties.
There is no word if or when President Obama will make his way to the Volunteer State for a campaign appearance.
However, First Lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have both been here in recent months to raise money on his behalf.
