NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
A vehicle struck an 82-year-old man bound to a wheelchair on Sunday night as he was attempting to cross the roadway.
According to police, the victim was trying to cross Lafayette and Claiborne streets when the accident occurred.
A witness reported to authorities the driver of the vehicle had the green light when the pedestrian came into traffic.
The victim received non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to an area hospital, where he will be kept overnight.
Police said there were no signs of drugs or alcohol present at the scene.
No charges are expected to be filed.
