FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
Franklin authorities are continuing to investigate after a shooting was reported at the property of a prominent country artist Sunday night.
The incident was reported at a cabin located on property belonging to Tom T. Hall in the 2200 block of South Berry's Chapel Road. Hall was not home at the time of the shooting.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, at least three people inside the home had been drinking and writing songs when a fight broke out between two males.
Authorities reported the wife of one of the men involved in the altercation fired shots in an effort to break up the fight.
Dusty Rhoades with the Williamson Co. Sheriff's Department told Nashville's News 2, "Basically we've got two couples that were out drinking this afternoon and a fight broke out between the two males, and as the fight progressed, the bigger guy was getting the better part of the smaller guy and he was holding the smaller guy down.
The smaller guy's wife apparently shot the bigger guy in the knee to try and get him off of her husband."
No arrests have been made; however, authorities have questioned at least one person involved in the incident.
The two men involved in the altercation were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
