Darrell Whited, 38
William Lee, 28
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation took a former convenience store employee into custody for his involvement in a theft scheme on Wednesday.
William Lee, of Ashland City, is charged with one count of theft over $60,000.
Authorities determined during a more than four month long investigation, the 28-year-old assisted Darrell Whited of Greatwide Logistics steal more than $105,000 from Mapco by using a fuel card.
Officials said Whited used his company fuel card to make fraudulent purchases at the convenience store.
Authorities said Lee would run the card for a specific amount, have Whited sign for the purchase of gas and then exchange the receipt for the cash amount.
The pair are said to have split the money.
Whited, 38, was taken into custody in May. He also faces one count of theft over $60,000.
Lee has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
