NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
Police are questioning persons of interest after a man and woman were greeted by gunfire upon returning to their Hermitage home Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the Terrace Park Apartments in the 3100 block of Elm Hill Pike.
Metro police told Nashville's News 2 as the couple exited their vehicle, two men, one with a white shirt over his face and the other with a black shirt over his face, fired four to six shots.
The man was hit twice and taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries. The woman was not hit and not injured.
A K9 unit was brought to the scene but was unable to track down the suspects.
Metro police were talking to persons of interest but had not made any arrests hours later.
