NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Preparations are underway in downtown Nashville for the 2012 CMA Music Festival.

The biggest week in country music begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.

The 3rd annual Billboard Country Music Summit takes place on Monday and Tuesday.

The conference brings together some of the biggest names in the business, including Willie Nelson, Luke Bryan and Dwight Yoakam.

At the event Nashville's News 2 spoke with Luke Bryan who said he got his start in music by singing in his church's choir in Georgia and writing songs for his youth group.

"You know I really started to realize, you know living out a dream is really important in life," Bryan said. "My whole ride in this business starts with people and the enjoyment of the people that you're experiencing it with."

Bryan is among those who are scheduled to perform at LP Field.
