MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Murfreesboro police are continuing to investigate after thieves recently struck a Rutherford County church.

According to police, the robbery occurred at River Rock Baptist Church located in the 2200 block of Highway 99 over Memorial Day weekend.

The suspect was able to get away with a laptop computer and other office items.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police at 615-849-2670.

The robbery is the most recent in a string of church burglaries that have occurred throughout the Mid-State.

In January, thieves damaged multiple air conditioning units in an effort to steal copper wire from Murfreesboro churches.

In March, suspects targeted several churches in Fairview, where they got away with electronic equipment including laptop computers and a video camera.
