CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) - Investigators in Bradley County say a 3-year-old girl who was fatally shot in the home of her state trooper grandfather lived there.
The Cleveland Daily Banner says the victim was Kydalynn Robinson.
Bradley County sheriff's office spokesman Bob Gault said the incident on Wednesday occurred at the home of Tennessee Highway Patrol Lt. Tommie Graham.
Medical personnel found the girl with a gunshot wound near her left eye. She was pronounced dead a short time later at SkyRidge Medical Center.
Gault said it appeared the child shot herself while holding a .45-caliber pistol.
A 2-year-old cousin in the same room was not injured.
The girl's mother was in another room when the shooting occurred.
Kydalynn lived at the home with her grandparents, her mother, an aunt and her cousin.
