A Clarksville police officer got a quite a surprise Tuesday afternoon when he responded to a home burglar alarm and found a three-year-old boy in the home alone.
The officer reported he found the front door to the home on Sharpie Drive unlocked and the little boy inside.
When asked, the boy told the officer his mother was at work.
The officer found a phone number inside the house and contacted the mother, Raven Fitzgerald, and told her to return home.
When she arrived she told the officer she only intended to leave the child alone for a couple of hours.
Fitzgerald, 24, was charged with child abuse and neglect and booked into the Montgomery County jail.
The young boy is in the custody of a family fiend, police said.
