ADAMS, Tenn. -
James Toby and Cindy Gunn decided to combine their wedding with a canoe trip on Saturday.
The couple, from Crofton, Kentucky, just outside of Hopkinsville, is regular customers at Red River Valley Canoeing in Adams, Tennessee and wanted to do something a little different when they tied the knot.
"We are 52 years old, so we got to do something better before we die" said bride Cindy Gunn with a laugh.
"When we told our friends we were getting married on the river they were excited and gave us hugs and congratulations," groom James Toby added.
The wedding ceremony was performed by a Justice of the Peace on the bank of the Red River.
The small wedding party was made up of family and friends.
After the couple exchanged their vows, they jumped into a canoe and headed down the Red River on their honeymoon.
