The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a former probation officer on Tuesday for misconduct after he was indicted by the Montgomery County Grand Jury earlier this month.

According to authorities, 40-year-old Derrel Denton is said to have stolen restitution payments totaling more than $5,000 from juveniles who were under his supervision from October 2010 until July 2011.

Denton also had an outstanding warrant against him for driving under a revoked license, a seat belt violation and driving without registration or insurance.

He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $6,000 bond for one count of official misconduct.

His court date has yet to be decided.
