SMITHVILLE, Tenn. -
Crews spent time on Friday preparing for the third annual Water Boat Show scheduled to be held this week in Smithville.
The annual event will take place at Pate Ford's Marina Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Nashville's News 2 spoke with Tony Ashley of Middle Tennessee Ashley Houseboats who said there will be multiple boats on display at the show.
"We have nine house boats on display for the general public viewing. They are all pre- owned units ranging in all different shapes and sizes," he explained.
Ashley said he encourages anyone who is thinking about purchasing a houseboat in the future to attend the exhibit.
"Everybody can come onto the boats, take a look at them, see what they are all about and ask all the questions," he said.
The boats range from $60,000 to several hundred thousand dollars.
For attendees not interested in purchasing a houseboat, the show will also feature personal water craft, pontoon boats and ski boats.
"We are expecting a big year this year," said Jonathan Green from Smithville Marine.
Green told Nashville's News 2, the boat show is a great time to buy because many of the dealers will be offering plenty of incentives ranging from free gas and trailers to big discounts off price.
Door prizes will also be given away throughout the weekend event.
Pate's Ford Marina is located on Center Hill Lake at 6323 Jefferson Road.
