Fatal crash blocks Briley Parkway in west Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

A fatal crash involving a motorcycle shut down one lane of Briley Parkway in west Nashville for several hours Thursday.

The wreck was reported at mile marker 27, just north of Interstate 40 and White Bridge Road at 11:20 a.m. Thursday.

Briley Parkway South was reduced to one lane at Centennial Boulevard for about two hours.

Drivers were urged to seek an alternate route.

Initial reports indicated the crash involved at least one motorcycle and the rider died on the scene.
