
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - An early morning shooting involving an East Tennessee State University student at an off-campus apartment has led to increased security on campus.
The Johnson City Press reports a statement on the university's Web site Saturday says the unnamed student was treated for minor injuries and released from an area hospital after being grazed by a bullet
Johnson City and ETSU police are investigating the shooting.
The statement asked students, faculty and staff to use caution and report suspicious activity.
The heightened security may lead to ID checks for students entering campus buildings.
