NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Goodlettsville based retailer, Dollar General, celebrated the opening of its 10,000th store on Tuesday.

"We now own and operate more retail locations than any other retailer in America which is a wonderful thing for us and for Nashville," Tawn Earnest of Dollar General said.

To celebrate the new store in Central Valley, California, corporate officials brought in their NASCAR drivers in both the Sprint and Nationwide series.

"Dollar General is still strong and still growing like crazy," racecar driver Joey Logano, said.

Driver Brian Scott added, "I think they flourish because of their great discount prices and what they're able to offer the consumer."

Ernest told Nashville's News 2 Dollar General likes to share their success with communities throughout the country.

"We like to think that success is shared with the communities because we've created so many jobs," she said.

Dollar General plans to open 625 store this year alone, which will create 6,000 new jobs.
