Country legend George Jones hospitalized

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Country music artist George Jones has been admitted to a Nashville area hospital.

The country legend, commonly referred to as "The Possum" is suffering from an upper respiratory infection.

The 80-year-old is expected to remain hospitalized overnight for observation and be released on Friday.

No additional information was released.
