Staff of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee are making final preparations for the third annual Wedding Gala event that will be held this weekend.
The event will be held on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Goodwill store in Rivergate located at 2102 Gallatin Pike North.
"We have more than 300 wedding gowns for this sale and they are all priced between $49 and $399," said Goodwill spokesperson Jamie Berry.
Officials said that many of the wedding dresses to be sold are brand-new.
"Some of the dresses have been donated to us by bridal boutiques and are designer gowns worth up to $6,000," Berry said.
Berry told Nashville's News 2 the store anticipates customers will travel from area states to take advantage of the discounted gowns, bridesmaids' dresses, mother-of- the-bride/groom dresses, flower girl dresses and even prom gowns.
Officials of the event said they expect 500 customers to attend the sale and advise brides-to-be to arrive early and be prepared.
"Some of the brides last year wore body suits so they could try on dresses in the aisle and not have to worry about waiting for the dressing room," said Berry.
Goodwill will have a person at the store offering free alteration advice.
Last year, more than 170 dresses were sold at the three-hour event.
